Turkey anyone?

Our plans for this Thanksgiving were to go visit Hubb'y parents. My parents plans were to
drive down for the Jackpot dinner buffet. They never do that and thought that since most of us
kids were not going to be in town, they would indulge themselves. Im sure they were dreaming
of all the wonderful foods that the restaurant is known for. And I'm sure mom was stoked about not cooking. Well, it just so turned out that our plans to go see Hubby's parents fell through. By Tuesay night we finally realized that is was not going to happen. Still, we endeavored to be thankful. I called my mother to tell her that we weren't going and asked her if we could go with them to Jaackpot. I too, had no desire to cook a huge meal. Not at the last minute. My mother responded with a silence and then all I could hear was her yelling to one of the girls to bring her a notebook. She proceeded to ask me what I wanted to bring because she was going to make a Thanksgiving meal for all of us. As she began writing down and planning the menu, I could't help but feel blessed that I truely had THE MOST WONDERFUL MOTHER! The menu, as usual, was pretty extensive! When our family cooks, we cook, holding nothing back!

That Thanksgiving we had a wonderful time. My Uncle and Aunt came and ate with us. My Aunt is known for her delightful relish trays! My mother and sister made the turkey, stuffing, potatoes n' gravy, and many other things. I brought rolls and an awesome, delightful, sinful, pretzel salad. Jesus himself would be brought to tears because of how good it is. I made it big enough to take home for when I felt like eating my emotions. What can I say, food comforts me. HA! Needless to say, I am extremely blessed with all that I have been given. I have a nice house, a car, a hubby who works harder than anyone I know, and 3 beautiful, goofey-messy kids!

Our findings...

Remember two Saturdays ago when I said our family was going out that day to spend some family time? Well, that day started out with a trip to the bank, then we decided to go shopping/looking for digital cameras. I have two of them already, however, none of them work properly. Like I said, our intention was really to just look for cameras, perhaps buy one (with huge emphasis on the PERHAPS).

As we were driving to the electronic store we passed by a furniture store. I said to hubby, "Hmm, let's just go take a look for the fun of it." Hubby agreed so into the store we went. They were having a huge sale and the prices were unbelieveable!! We happened upon a matching leather couch, chair and ottoman. I fell in love at the moment I saw them. I asked the salesman how much they were. I couldn't believe the price he quoted me!! I turned to Hubby and he also agreed that the price was more than reasonable. Not wanting to give the salesman any room to quote us a different price, we made the decision to buy the set. The salesman then asked us if we wanted an end table to match. Hubbby said, "yes, if at a great price." Acting amused the salesman responded with a chuckle then quoted us another awe-dropping price. At that moment Hubby and I made eye contact and then simultaneously blurted, "we'll take it!"

It has been ten days already and I love my new furniture. The other ones we had were a blessing, but they were white microfiber and hard to keep clean. I'm a neat freak and very anal about keeping feet off the couches. You would find once a month with my steam vaccumn cleaning up the couch and love seat. To be quite honest, it was such a hassel!! Now, because the new ones don't get dirty, just a little dusty, I wipe them off with leather cleaning cloths and "WA-LA" it's done!! I am thankful and blessed. I would have never imagined that us going to an electronic store resulted in us buying new furniture.

I just had to do it!

Hello there! This is my first blog and I'm so excited because now I can stay in touch better with my family and friends. My friend Pauliese gave me the idea to start my own! Today is Saturday which means we will be gone most of the day. Our Saturdays consist of long drives, sometimes shopping-mostly looking, and lots of fun and laughter! I'm not sure what's in store for the day, but as I turn around I see my hubby's inpatient look signaling to me that it's time to go. May you all have a wonderful weekend!
